Many decisions affecting our classrooms are handed down from the Governor, the state legislature, and the Indiana Department of Education. We have provided a link to the ISTA/NEA Legislative Action Center so you can express your opinions to these leaders. As an EEA member, we will forward the ISTA Hotline and NEA Board reports to keep you advised of current education issues affecting our profession. We urge you to use your voice through e-mails to advocate for quality public education.
As members of the EEA, we must all become active leaders in our communities, assuming a supportive role in electing pro-education candidates who will promote adequate school budgets and sensible laws. We will work to provide you with some helpful information on how to accomplish that. Strengthening our ties to our local communities empowers us with a united voice, advocating for public education.
We are united as an Association, working together for a quality contract which protects our rights on the job, secures commensurate wages and benefits, and assures that the students of Eastbrook obtain the highest quality education available. We will keep you advised of bargaining progress and will review with you, your contractual rights.
As educators, we believe that supplementing and increasing our knowledge is a life-long pursuit. Through our affiliation with ISTA and NEA, we can point you toward additional resources to aid you in your pursuit as an education professional in our state.
